Gone camping this weekend

We are packing up the family and heading into the wilderness for the weekend. It's a holiday on Monday here in BC so we are finally going to explore some of the "natural beauty" people are always droning on and on about.

Have a killer weekend guys, if we don't see you tonight!

Was thinking about organizing a "Glory to the cataclysm hero" meta achieve group next week if anyone is interested in grinding out some heroics and wiping repeatedly on hard modes :) let me know.

WTF where do i even start....


1) Everyones all... omg post on the forum so I have stuff to do at work, and all day nothing till this one crap ass thread shows up at dinnertime!!

2) Family/ Nature.... the only words that come to mind here are all 4 letters.... drop the family off at the moose hump motel and make usre to pack your comp.

3) Ok we can help on the achiev, so no angry hair pulling on this one.

1) sorry was under-staffed at work today

2) the moose hump motel was booked solid

3) he doesn't have enough hair to pull, cept maybe on his legs

Come any time bunz. We are in Ontario 24-26 August but after that it's wide open so don't hesitate to book.


I am the only person here who thinks that we will be able to get a camp-site this weekend. I'm an optimist surrounded on all sides by nay-sayers!

Expect a lot of gloating if the tiny out of the way camp-site I have picked out is empty :)

Expect us never to mention this weekend again if its full and we have to sleep in the car.

if your going to go camping go camping. none of this book a spot bs,
picture it now rows of tents where hundreds of people are "roughing it" while kids run screaming around the camp ground and 42 BBQ's are going at once leaving a pall of smoke....
umm whats the point of going camping if your basically taking the city with you and just losing your xbox?

drive to a forest

park off the road

walk into said forest till you find a nice spot (preferably near water)

camp

any other way and your fooling yourself :P might as well just take an afternoon hike thru the public park.

I agree, find some crown land and hunker down. Its free and in your right to camp there.

This is what really happened.

Friday
1400 - leave the city headed north
1700 - arrive at the camp ground I expected to have spots; no spots
1800 - convince Shawn to drive 90 minute to a different camping region
2000 - 12 km down a dirt Shawn's head is steaming with rage
2015 - Campsite achieved! Beautiful amazing lake side w/ snow capped mountains and a huge level site with fire wood laying around.
2300 - Go to bed happy, long day but we have a site and even the dog is behaving

Saturday
0600 - Take the dog out to pee. Many mosquitoes, oh well, back to bed
1000 - get up and make some food. Damn, lots of mosquitoes. They will go away when the sun climbs.
1200 - This is obcene. Never-ending swarms of mosquitoes landing on our eyeballs, we can't spray repelant there. The dog literally has 200 trailing behind him wherever he goes.
1300 - Pack up everything and leave. The site was full when we went to bed; we are the last people to give up and escape.
1600 - Back in the city. Car rented for 2 more days. Massive stock pile of snack foods and beer.

Meh, could be worse.

These are the times I most wish we lived closer... Ah the jokes, the ribbing, the crying. Glorious.

See even dogs dont want to be in nature. Give him a pupperoni, or some beggin strips!

lol!! I was wondering if you guys survived your weekend in the woods.

One thing I just don't get though. How can you sleep till 10am while camping? I personally can't sleep past once the sun is risen and it gets bright.

Also, you found a spot and then got chased away by mosquitoes. Next time try not showering for a couple days and then eating tons of garlic. Arena tonight?? Myth helped me last night and I could just about see the steam coming out of his ears (I was really bad at mage last night for some reason.) He didn't let on but after I got trained and died in the first 20 seconds a few times I felt so bad for making him go through that. (haha no I don't.)
