What the hell is poutine?

I am not a fan of kinky or exotic poutine.

This is not like putting sprinkles on a donut or adding sausage to a spaghetti sauce. This is more like adding pickles to nachos; there is no good reason.

Poutine is the perfect marriage of delicious hearty gravy and fresh squeaky cheese curds over thick cut French fries. It's our most delicious Canadian national dish and I encourage everyone to try it.

Be warned, however, it's as much an art as a science getting not only the best cheese curds and the perfect gravy flavour / texture but also combining them in exact proportions. This is what French Canada has mastered and what will ultimately be their most important contribution to humanity.
